Evolution of War Chariot Tactics in the Ancient Near East

Evolution of War Chariot Tactics in the Ancient Near East

These few notes endeavour to propose a solution for the transportation of the siege-shield, during the pitch battles and sieges. With the absence of depictions or of mentions of other means of transportation in the texts or on the visual arts, and with the similarities between the siege-shield crews and the chariot teams, it seemed reasonable to propose the chariot as a possible solution. In the meantime, the study of this point would provide a deeper insight of the ancient near eastern chariot and infantry combined tactics.
